Nice looking truck, I have its newer twin (except yours is a Lariat)

Kind of unusual to see a '97 that still has the side exhaust, most of those where replaced under warrenty for doing funny things to the rear wheel. Whoever had my brother's '97 at the time got the exhaust extension, and a new wheel with 5 new lug nuts.

They are good trucks, I have had mine for 4.5 years and love it.

Haha. That's a fine looking truck ya got there. What year did they change front bumpers? '99? How maney miles are on your's?

Next time the words, that's cute leave her lips you need to donkey punch her.

Yeah in '99 they got a here and there facelift.

Different bumper, airdam and front grille (my grille swoops down a little in the middle, yours goes straight across)

Pretty much everything else is a bunch of little stuff that that you have to park beside a truck from the other side of '99 to notice... which we did when my brother got his '97.

My truck had 25k when I got it, just turned over to 75k a couple of weeks ago.

Wow 75K is pretty low for a 99. Good for you man. It would be cool to park next to a 99 or 2000 and see the changes. I really like the aero body! The good part about these trucks is that they are so damn common. Parts and info are easy to find. One thing I noticed about the rangers is places like Cabela's don't carry much for them. They kinda focus on the full sized trucks. Speaking of witch I can't wait to get some cool accessories.:icon_bounceblue:

The facelift was in '99, mine is an '02. Really kind of weird for as common as they are, I have yet to see one that is an exact twin to mine, 99-03, black with grey bottom, polished 16's aluminum rims and the 4x4 package.

The Cabela's that I have been to has pretty much moved on from the 97-03 F-150's and seems to concentrate pretty hard on the 04-08 style.

Some things I noticed between my brother's '97 and my '02:

Instrument cluster is different, his has the tach and speedo offset to one side with the four smaller gauges together while mine has them centered with two smaller gauges on each side. Mine are also more green at night while his are more of a bluish green.

My radio trip piece has a narrow strip that goes between the radio and the HVAC controls, his doesn't (dunno why they would change that??)

The door panels are different, his door handle is down by your knee and mine is up high.

I have two interior grab handles, he has one. The handles themselves are different too.

Just a bunch of stuff you wouldn't see unless you compared them side by side.

And then there several mechanical changes too...

Huh. That's good stuff to know. I wonder how many of those changes are swapable. Like the cluster maybe? I could have a one of a kind F-150 morph! Haha. Thanks for the info man. It's really cool to have a whole nother species of vehicle to get to know. I've gotten a lot of compliments from people on it. My girlfriend is totally in love with it now. Says I look hot driving it. Thanks Ford!

Oh yeah! How do you like your true duals? Sound good? That's going to be one of my first mods, and am not sure what kind/brand to look in to.

is that a brake line?

Oh yeah I forgot to post on that question. I saw another '97 today and talked to the owner about it. He let me crawl under his rig and check it out. I think it's some sort of a breather line? Not a 100% on that, but it clips on to the frame and is just kind of open. It has a small plastic nipple-like tip on the end of it. I connects at a four way where the brake lines split. It doesn't leak or anything and my brakes are fine. Breather is the first thing that comes to mind. Any ideas?
