No 4x4 low light

I have a 04 4.0 ranger when I turn the swith to 4hi it clicks and light comes on as normal, but when I turn it to the 4low nothing happens and no light.

Shift trans to neutral, foot on brake, zero MPH/KPH THEN shift to 4low. Repeat to shift out of 4low.
