Hey guys! Im New!!!! ha sorry, now thats out of the way.

Im about to purchase a 99 ford ranger reg cab 4x4!

But its front wheels wont engage when 4wd is flipped on. (i know about the PVH system problem) I assume its the PVH that is garbage.. the owner has no clue, and he didnt even know 4wd wasnt working,and i believe him, this thing has NOT been abused. i dont think ive ever seen a 1999 vehicle that thats this clean.

anyway i need some advice, should i continue or is there a proper section of the forum for these questions?

In order to engage / disengage 4x4, you must have clutch and brake pedals pushed. Are you doing that?

If so, check the vacuum lines to each wheel, they have to be in good order.

If you get a flashing 4x4 light, there is something electrical not working correctly.

So, what is it you are seeing with the 4x4 lights / system.
