new truck

came across this truck the other day and got it tonight! Its an 84' ranger 4x4 with a built 289 v8. Needs minimal work. Sorry for the bad pics, i will post better ones tomorrow. Tell me what u think.

yeah it is pretty clean, it was redone.

right now im replacing all the brakelines..they are rusted to helllllllll!
Anybody got any tips on how to make the gas guage work?

put a new pickup in the tank. Any way you can get more pics on how those gauges were mounted?

the wrong gauge cluster is in it it has on for the new fuel injected trucks it need one without the tach.

Watch that front end if it's the stocker... There's alittle more torque there than the 2.8. hehe, maybe just a bit.

i have had 3 2.8 and 2 carbed 2.3 trucks and all but one had a tach

well im sorry but ive never seen a 2.8 have a tach dash from the factory i have asked on the site before and they said it doesnt come with one from the factoery and as for the 2.3 i have no idea on them.but one thing i can say is i bet it will

are there 2 fuel pumps on these? I saw one on the frame rail, is there one in the tank along with the gas guage reader?

yeah thers one in the tank. there may be 2 fuel filters too (there is on mine)

How does the 289 do propelling it? Do you know what as been done to it? I have one on a stand waiting for me to find my own place other than an apartment to rebuild and put in my '85.

havent had a chance to drive it yet because the carb problem. The previous owner said its a very quick truck...i would assume so for being 300 horsepower in a little ranger.

yeah, i was kinda curious myself how the ashtray hole guage set up looks up close.
