New tools you've bought recently?

5/32" R8 collet to hold a #21 drill so I can put a bunch of 10-32 screws in a stand.

Wife bought one $10 raffle ticket...

Come home with this...

I don't need any of it... also I went all in on different tools.

Will likely try to sell this set.

Stopped at a little surplus/salvage place last week or the week prior and ended up leaving with a "pocket lathe" for like 4 bucks lol.

Ever since my cousin got me a Leatherman for the Christmas of '24 I've been slowly turning into one of those "EDC" guys.. the Leatherman saved the day at work & elsewhere quite a lot last year and kinda opened my eyes a bit. Started to carry a single AAA flashlight everywhere I went last fall.. wayyy better than a cellphone light.. then a sharpie.. lighter.. most recently the pocket lathe..

Summer means losing roughly 8 or 9 pockets to put this crap in.. so I wound up getting a little EDC pouch on sale shipped for like 30 bucks..

Just hangs off my belt with a carabiner.. money well spent. Tossed some zip ties in it today.. still got plenty of room. Extra batteries for the light would be good.. perhaps another adjustable or mabey some little channel locks or something.. idk. It's a journey lol.

Pouch is from 5.11 tacticool. Egor Sierra is the model name or whatever..

Dunno if it's a thing where y'all are at but you see a lot of people around here carrying a normal pair of pliers around in a pouch on their belt.

I totally get the Leatherman but just a normal pair of pliers??? It's weird. Maybe I'm just not a pliers guy. They're not a good hammer, maybe just a mediocre wrench, definitely not vise grips, and won't work on screws or pull a nail. What gives? I'd almost rather carry a crescent wrench around, now THAT'S a good hammer.

Oh, new tools. Someone put yard sale leftovers on the curb yesterday so I got a beat up tool box that had a bunch of junk in it AND a handful of Mac/Snap-on/Cornwell/Blue Point wrenches & 1/4 drive sockets. SCORE! And a nice rock bar, cheap pair of jumper cables, some 30w engine oil, and a weird 2 wheel/4 wheel dolly thing.

Then today I got a plastic 6 gallon Blitz gas jug from the thrift store for $6.

Not tools related but I may be picking up a nice Camp Chef propane dual burner stove tonight and possibly another Coleman lantern.

What kinda pliers? I know some plumbers & industrial maintenance folks who carry around channel locks in the little belt holster deal..

I'm not an EDC guy but have had a regular ol pocket knife on me for like 30 years, currently a cheapie Kershaw speedsafe linerlock jobbie... and a leatherman E4 which has wire strippers and a few other things that are dumb handy and one of those ~3" Craftsman keychain adjustable wrenches from the '90's which is oddly handy in a pinch as it goes up to 10mm...

As for the leather belt pouch pliers I've seen that in farming communities, they're usually just standard slip joint jobbies from what I've seen, wouldn't be my choice but my brother farms and has a ~5" long dual closed end 1/2 and 9/16" wrench in his pocket during irrigation season and other times, it's stupid handy... sprinkler nozzles have 1/2" hex and pipe hooks use a 9/16" nut...

Sunday I picked up a second set of harbor freight hose pincher things, the ones with the wing nuts not the black plier things.
