New tools you've bought recently?

If that's the 5 gallon, they were at walmart here a couple months back under the Midwest brand for $17.88. I got one put an older spout (like THIS) on it. With the vent installed it's just like the old cans. I did use the locking ring that came with the jug. Had to open the inside slightly. I also cut the "latch" off. Very convenient jug.

IDK if this qualifies as a tool, but I will use it with Forscan.

I've been looking newer laptops for awhile, and Brittney has decided she likes using a computer for Youtube music videos. So I convinced her to let me get a NICE laptop for her to use while I use the desktop. If it weren't for the TDP (and GPU) this would do everything my desktop does. CPU is actually a generation newer. Now I just have to convince her to use headphones and wireless keyboard and mouse that suits her.
Blitz stopped making cans I think since they refused to use the new standards or something dumb assuming you can believe the internet...

I like that style jug, I like it less for diesel but I just added a vent plug to the cans I have and I've bought replacement yellow caps... For gas I like the racing style cans but I don't have any gas tractors... my tractor just has an 8 gallon tank and resting it up on the hood doesn't work great but the hook does hit the rim and you can get most of the can empty that way.

Actually, these were back in the end or March but until recently, I've been busier than an one armed wall paper hanger. These are more for the trailer tires, especially since the stated max wheel size is 16". So, I may be able to do tire for the 2011, but unless I buy some 16" rims (16" rims for a 2019+ Ranger are expensive for steel rims) for the 2019, the other vehicles are out of the running. Low profile tires are more difficult to work with as well. So, even if I managed to just get by with the 2019's tires, the low profile tires on the Escape are almost most assuredly a no go. Heck, I'm still struggling a bit using a tire machine when changing tires on the USPS Mercedes Benz Metris delivery vans.

One of the things I found I had to do was to weld a plate to the 2 straps running down to the wedge that presses the tire down loosening it from the rim. If you have a stubborn tire those straps bend.

What thickness did you use? I can get some flat stock and take the bead breaker to The Village Smithy to have them weld the flat stock to the existing arms.

I have a rim clamp tire machine when you need to use it, lol

Yeah, I haven't seen them new in a long time.

When I first got my place I started out with a Midwest can, its still around but I really don't like it. The original spout was a complete POS, I snagged a kit at a farm supply store that gave it a big accordion spout and added a vent but it still slobbers out the vent when not being used and the spout wouldn't fit in a vehicle fuel fill receptacle.

Somehow even without a normal vent the Blitz cans move fuel pretty well. And they are balanced in such a way I can just lean them on the air stack and it can just do its thing while I check the other fluids and whatnot.

For like $2.33 ($7 divided by 3) I am very happy with this. :yahoo:

I love those Blitz jugs, have a couple of them myself. IIRC Blitz got sued or something and went out of business. Too bad.

Usually I use a 5 gallon metal Eagle gas can because it has a funnel attached to it and it is almost impossible to tip over. Just have to be careful not to put too much gas in it, says it holds 5 gallons but about 4.5 is better. If you put more than that in and it's hot outside, it'll expand and spray out when you open it.

A google on that shows that they lack a flame arrestor so if you dump it on a fire the fuel can may explode. So they got sued out of existance.

Never mind that it’s a really dumb idea to dump gasoline on a fire to begin with. Kerosene and diesel are far better for fires, less volatile and they burn longer so if you’re trying to get a fire going, that works better than something explosively flammable that burns off really quickly. Of course, if you know how to build a fire correctly you don’t need any “liquid boyscout” to help things along. People are dumb.

All the cans I have that came with a flame aresstor no longer have them. Filling the cans with those things installed is a finiky process of holding the fuel pump nozzle just right and getting all 5 gallons and not have the pump shutting off is a challenge.

They also all got the kit with the fuel vent and the accordian nozzle.
