New tools you've bought recently?

Bought a "Vintage" 8 lb drop forged sledge hammer head off of ebucks.

No more of those cast Chinese versions. Had one shed shrapnel on me.

Also bought a new gorgeous 36" hickory handle for the sledge hammer head also off of ebucks. I still prefer this to fiberglass handles. They just feel right.

I bought a c-clamp type valve spring compressor to rebuild a Dirtbike head. It deformed and the c opened up so it wouldn’t work. The keepers were really stuck on there and the spring holders couldn’t rotate. A few modifications and it was able to break things loose.

The older I get, the more I appreciate used\vintage tools & equipment;
seem to be always be heavier\sturdier\simpler & more maintainable than new.
Plus I enjoy the time cleaning\rebuilding & giving them a 2nd or 3rd life.
Always interesting to take something apart & discover small ingenuities.

😂 at " Hazard Fraught"

I have no complaints with them yet, I actually like most of there tools. You definitely save some bucks with that Hazard Fraught.

Electric Ratchet Kit. It works very well for a Chinese Tool. I have used it multiple times already. I bought my future son in law one also. He loves it. Comes with 2 battery's and a decent battery charger. When I got this last year it was about $60 or so, it's now $90.

Sometimes we get lucky.

I have a Dewalt 3/8” 20v impact wrench that’s terrific. Haven’t used the air impact in 2-3 years. When I was doing the 87 drag link, I used it with a 3/8x1/2 adapter. I’m sure like a lot of you guys, especially the guys my vintage, you’ve got a suitcase full of spare sockets and adapters like me. This was my one and only.

Just by chance, I dropped the adapter in a driveway crack and it landed female up. When was the last time you looked in the back of one of your sockets or adapters? I have had the Dewalt for two or three years, but I’ve had this adapter for two or three decades.

It wasn’t impact rated, and I think 90% of the time I used it, I used it with the impact drivers. So I stopped in the very convenient auto store around the corner, grabbed one, and when I got to the checkout counter, they wanted $18. I passed.

I went on eBay, and bought a two pack that were impact rated for $13 including shipping.

After I ordered them, just for grins, I just googled it to see what was available locally. NAPA/genuine parts had them (not impact) on sale for $3.03.

So now my kids will inherit three of them.

Just bought this one off Amazon, I have a regular off brand from Amazon as well that has been good. I also had a craftsman one that I just sold. I wanted one of these because the other ones can't reach much because of the battery and bulkyness.

My black Friday buy finally showed up. Definitely did not "need" this since at least 3-4 people I know have tubing benders but it would be awful convenient to have my own. I will be building a roll cage for my stubby Explorer and other stuff for it too. Easier to build at my house rather than haul materials & vehicles to my friends places and hog up their shop space indefinitely.

Figured I'd give Swag a try, everything I've got from them in the past has been top notch. I can use the air/hydraulic cylinder on my cherry picker for this. I looked at a few other brands but they all needed an adapter to use a cherry picker cylinder, otherwise you are stuck with bending by hand or spending quite a bit of money on a hydraulic ram and pump.
