My credo
A properly suspensioned Ranger can be safely airborne for up to 4 seconds at a time! =:O
Mine is looking pretty tattered and disintegrated... what is it called and where can I get one? (Don't see it on RockAuto.com... )

Not super required, none of the three heaterboxes that have graced my truck even had one from the factory.

You may have to get generic metal backed insulation and fit it yourself if you want it.

Something like THIS?

Yeah, kind of odd that the OEM "blanket" is only on the side facing the engine, because when the hood is down, especially when stationary, I mean isn't the heat pretty much the same EVERYwhere? It seems the design of the box itself is the main insulation.

Have something similar in stock, may have some of it leftover when I finish hand-cutting my battery "jacket" from a sheet of it.

I've noticed that Ford used more and more added insulation on the HVAC housings as time went on, and especially after the change to R134a.

My Choptop I actually bent a thin piece of aluminum sheet to sit a little off the plastic box as a heat shield since I didn’t have the original one anymore.
