So, I had a blown head gasket.
Was leaking coolant by the #1 cylinder.

Took my head to get rebuilt while it was off.
Went to a quality guy to get it done.
Had 3 cracks where the valve area. :bawling:
Crap!

So, He tells me he has a head off a 94 that some guy never picked up.
I'll Take It!
$490

Got my truck put back together yesterday.
And now it seems like it has less power than with the old cracked head.
WTF?

I'm having trouble getting up to 55
(went on the expressway to see if it is Freeway/Highway worthy yet)
I used to be able to get to 60-70 with ease, on city streets!
Maybe I just need to let the new head "break" itself in?

Only put like 20mi on it so far.
Just to to a bit of test running and to make sure there is no leaks
(Found out my upper hose wasn't clamped tightly enough)
And to get the exhaust manifold heated up so I can Re Torque the bolts

sounds like maybe the timing is off a little bit? did you make sure you were at tdc? it could be off a degree or 2.

Update
Timing is a bit about TC
Will fix that tomorrow.

Could it make that big of a difference?

yes, timing makes a big difference. fix the timing and report back.

my timing used to be off and it started fine and everything just had reaaaal crappy power and was sorta hesitent and it also popped and cracked alot on decel, i finally got it straitened out and the difference is night and day.

Timing is dead on.
Still very low on power.

Hooked up the scanner to the O2 sensor to see if it functioning right.
Seems to be running out of range(1.23V) and a little slow on reaction.
That is on the list to replace
as well as the fuel filter
(should have been done with the new head anyways)

Update:
Went into my step-dads shop today.

Ran a pressure test on the fuel system.
And ran a test on the regulator.

Conclusion.
Bad Pressure regulator.

Unhooked the vaccume line from it(giving me more PSI) and drove it around the block.
I felt a difference.

Ordered it from Napa
should get it tomorrow.
Will update once its installed.
