New ranger..need help, im lost! EDITED WITH PICS

ok, so i came over from the Honda car scene, i had a CLEAN, not ricey, 92 integra, with some minor mods done to it, the most important mod to me is being LOW!!

so i just bought a 08 ranger reg cab 2wd 5spd, my buddy works at Ford and gave me a nice deal on it.

i love the truck, but it cannot stay stock. I do want to go with a lowrider theme for this truck, but im so lost, i've been searching and lurking around, but ur Ford truck lingo just has me lost.

SO...what is 2/4 ? or a 5/7 Drop? Can i slam the truck on bags without cutting up the bed? whats the best air ride kit? does anybody have a newer bodystyle ranger "lowrider style"..someone help me out here

Being that you have a 08 you will most likely hear about 2/3 or 4/5, which refers to the drop. 4/5 being the front will be lowered 4 in and the rear 5 in.

If yo usee this often it is refering to how far the truck will be lower from stock height, the front will be the first number and the rear the 2nd number.

So for you depending on how low you want to go. I would start off with the 4/5 drop from DJM. I ran that in my truck for about 6 month till I decided to bag her.

And it is possible to put air ride on without cutting the bed. Going that way there are several ways to do that.

You are better off putting a kit together to go that route.

I have seen them monoleafed with a bag over axle setup and it put the tank about an inch or so from the ground, which was purty good looking. And a great way to start a build, but I would not stay with a monoleaf forever.

So then how much you wanting to spend or how low are you planning on going ?

Oh and one last thing...
:worthless:

So you are wanting something subtle.... Very nice. If I were you then I would look at a 4/5 drop from DJM, and bolt in C-notch, for ride quality, and I had no problem with the Calimax drop shocks.

That will give you a nice stance and with a set of 20 or an 18 with a good size tire will fill out nicely.

If you are wanting the white walls, I have seen a very nice 99 laid down on old school moon cap and white walls.

I will see if I can find you that truck...

Check this out and I think this sounds like the direction you are wanting to go.

I seen a truck with a bag over axle and monoleaf, with a bolt in C notch, had the gas tank about an inch from the fround.

No cutting into the bed. He had and stx Ranger and the front bumber was on the ground. He was also running a set of 20s. Which were about the same as stock rims and tire.

So really there is alot of ways to go about that.
