So I've been lurking around the forums for a few months now, you guys helped me with my tire choices and a bunch of other things. I thank you for all your help so far!

I've come into some extra money and want to get a new muffler for my Ranger, I defiantly dont want it to sound like a Ricer. We have enough of those here in Cali...

Im leaning away from a full exhaust system (I dont have that much money) so what would you guys advise for a muffler that gives a deep sound, but not ricy.

Thanks,

Grant

i just put a force pro series on my 2.9L sounds pretty good its only $35 from summit and sounds just like a flowmaster the force seems like pretty good quality

I'll have to look into that, my main concern is to get a deeper sound from my ranger. I dont want any of that rice nonsence coming outa the back :fie:

that's actually the thing there dude, it's a 4 cyl you really cant help it.

i got a flowsound muffler on my 94 2.3 stick shift. when it's idling it doesnt sound too bad but when i change gears it makes that little ricey woosh noise.

I work at a shop and had a 4-cyl ranger come in with a flowmaster bolted to it... I couldn't get over how the dang thing sounded like an old farm tractor. The guy also had the "universal" (dryer vent) cold air intake. ;missingteeth;

God, I want that! I pop a half-chub when I start my 1941 Allis-Chalmers up.

Anyways, I put a Summit glass-pack on my 2.3L, and I think it sounds pretty good, for a $20 muffler. Not "ricey," but it's only a four-banger...

The only thing to can do to get a "deeper" sound is drop a bigger motor in the thing. I know a number of guys with the 4 banger and they have yet to find anything to get a good "deep" sound out of it.

Oh ya, sometimes you can find clips on youtube.com of vehicles with different kinds of mufflers on them. You should check it out and it may give you an idea of what you truck could sound like after.
