Rep systems are bogus. I disabled them on my forum. We have warnings but that's just to screw with people.

If they piss me off they're blocked for a few days. It's that easy.

The rep system on TRS seems to me to have started out for technical rep. Now it seems more for longevity and making other people's lives better - whether for technical help, or making them laugh. What's so wrong with that? I give rep for those, and even to posts on threads I read that doesn't affect me at all, but somebody gives a stellar answer to a question.

it's a popularity contest as far as i can tell. you get points for how long you've been and a point for every 500 posts you make and then for posts that people find funny, helpful or something like that. so yeah, they dont do or mean anything. most of my rep is from stupid or funny shit i say, there are other members that are far more knowledgable about RBV's than me.
