Good afternoon yall.
I have a 1995 ranger with the 2.3 5 speed. I bought it 2nd owner and 75000 miles. Did all the maintenence (fluid, belts, hoses etc.) and always have on time.
Fast Forward to 200000 miles now.
Changed plugs and wires yesterday(what a pain) vacuum lines next. No codes, but it is to be my new daily driver and I'm not about to get stranded.
Would the cheap cai on e bay be a good replacement for the stock rubber intake?
To cold today for pics

Sorry, I’m not familiar with the 2.3.

Just wanted to say welcome!!!

Tons of knowledge here, I’m sure someone will chime in.

If the stock intake is in good shape, I'd leave it. If it's not then whatever you can get. Or make...

Yeah, if the stock intake is in good shape then just leave it, they suck cold air from the passenger side inner fender which is just fine, most of the cheap "cold" air replacements suck hot air from by the exhaust manifold... and it's the same filter even for bigger engines so it isn't a restriction... I've put 100k on my '97 Ranger in the last 6 years and keep checking the filter but it hasn't looked dirty... Speaking of which that's why I got my '97 2.3L 5 speed, I haven't had to do anything to it out of the ordinary, two alternators (the first one was replaced under warranty when it died after 6 months), plugs and wires, one coil, water pump, timing belt... at 240k I think it's getting the recessed valves that these apparently get but still gets 23-24mpg
