New Here. Need some help!

First off i'm Tommy, I'm 18 and i live in Florida, I drive a 99 Ranger Sport, thing is a tank and i wont ever drive anything else other then a ranger. But anyways i need a little help here, i've been reading some threads and keep hearing things about SAS and other abbreviations. if someone could please explain what SAS is i would glady appreciate it! SAS is what the hardcore guys seem to like to run on their super off roaders. It is a single or straight axle system and is like an original primitive technology. If you look at 4X4s from back in the 50s and 60s they were straight axles. When trucks became more like cars they designed the independent front suspensions like the TTB that allows for smoother ride but is far more complicated and has more things to break.

There are definitely two camps on this issue and I don't wish to run afoul of either. I personally like the TTB but would agree in extreme use situations that the straight axle would probably be more desirable.

That is unless you look at vehicles like the Pinzgaur. They have all wheel indepent suspensions with extreme travel and sealed drivelines. Very cool but then again very complex. Not exactly what you want to be trying to repair in deep jungle mud situations.

There are going to be some guys on here that are going to tell you that you could have found this info by using the search button. Don't pay any attention to them as they get off on being mean to the newer members. This site is a plethora of knowledge and the search is very useful and I understand that your journey into the world of Rangers needs to get off on the right foot. So WELCOME to the forum.

What exhaust you running? Noticed you have duals in your photo album.
