Just wanted to say hi, but i'm new to rangers, but not the blue oval. anyway heres some pics of my recently aquired pickup that i traded for a ninja 250r as a winter rig. it has a 2.9, 5 spd, 3.73 gear, D35 up front and 8.8" in the back, 37x14.5 tires, and 113k miles.

Yes, welcome...

I have a soft spot for 88s...I've had two of them...

The outside looks clean...hows the frame and underside of the box/cab? I cleaned mine up with a sand blaster (had it done, actually)...it's worth the extra time and money...

thanks, yea the outside is pretty decent and only has a couple dings. the underside has surface rust on the frame but nothing is rotted out and the bottom of the cab and bed are solid, so i have time to get it squared away before any damage happens. this truck was almost a disaster when i got it, it needed balljoints, the front wheel bearings were pretty much finger tight so that wore out the grooves that hold the inner brake pad on the pass. side so i had to replace that steering knuckle. it is in dire need of a steering system but the good thing is it has the warn manual hubs though.

I bet that 2.9 is having serious issues pushing those 37's.

but thats a nice looking truck, definitely worth the trade. what kind of tread is left on those tires?

i was actually thinking a 5.0 swap, but a 4.0 is probably a lot cheaper to do, and yes it has some trouble getting going lol, it cruises fine and it turns about 1800 @ 55 in 4th. gear

thanks, theres 3/8" tread left. i know it needs gears badly, it has 3.73's now but i'm thinking 4.11 and going to a 35" tire.
