I'm sure some folks have seen this product. After doing much digging around, I've decided to get me one for the Ranger. It is called a "ScanGauge II" by Linaer Logic. You can have it monitor up to 4 real time data points from the PCM via the OBD II port. It can also record trips for MPG estimates. I plan to use it for MPG and load. Trying to figure out if my engine has a rattle or pinging at high load / high speeds (I've already gone to 91 octane and still does it). But mainly I like it becuase it is more info for me to use. Especially since it give soild numbers. I haven't gotten it calibrated yet, it takes 2 fill-ups to do that. It works with any OBD II ECU/PCM (vehicles computer).

How much did you pay for it?

i love my scangauge 2 in my f150. i monitor instant and avg mpg, monitor trans temp while towing, and theres other cool stuff i havent used yet. i did a mild tune for regular (87) gas, and messed with transmission shift pressure and rpm.

the mpg stuff was accurate within .5 mpg. i used the mpg and "load" function to design the most fuel efficient driving style (for my truck anyway). and it wasn't really slow acceleration, surprisingly. since i dont use the mpg stuff much anymore, i think i'll play with some other monitors

bought mine used, saved a bundle.
