New clutch, soft pedal/no disengagement. Images of tranny/cluch

Just to update.

MC was replaced, pedal only felt slightly better but still way off. Shop pulled tranny and claimed pressure plate was broken. Not sure how thats possible on the install as that part is generally not under pressure when installing it. Also not sure why pedal would feel better after bleed and go away? *shrug*

Picking it up tomorrow hopefully it drives like a charm. Wish I could see the part that failed but I doubt they have it anymore.

When you're bleeding it, is the hose you are bleeding through in a container of brake fluid? That firstly will tell you if you have air, and secondly it won't suck air back in.

Sorry I didn't see this thread earlier, but I had a problem with my 2.8 that turned out to be the clutch master cylinder. Everything worked fine until I replaced the tranny; then it suddenly couldn't go in gear because the clutch didn't release. I tried bleeding according to the shop manual (1985) but found an easy way on youtube.

I didn't remove or touch the master cylinder when pulling the transmission so that was my last thought - but that was the problem.
Hope this helps someone in the future.
