New 4x4 Couldn't pass up.

95-99 xj axle is the one you want. And no grand Cherokees either.

And yea that blue one I posted a pic of, he drives it 30 miles one way to work 6 days a week

What do you mean, a "manual locker"?

I'm guessing the CAD system has been set up with a cable and the PO tore out the flaky vacuum system. It's the Jeep equivalent of our PVH hubs.

I'm not so sure about that. Dad's XJ is an '89 and it has a non-CAD high pinion Dana30 under the front. That sounds like the one to have.

95-99 is HP, no CAD, and 297 wheel joints. Sure the 89 is HP but smaller wheel joints

Correct, just sucks when turning corners....

And if you have an 89 XJ w/o the CAD the axle has been swapped. 84-91 were the years they were in, I'm currently trying to find a newer D30 w/o CAD.

If it has the t/case with the full time option on, it will also have the non-cad front axle, regardless of year.

Martin's the man on this one. This jeep was absolutely bone stock when we bought it, it was nothing more than a grocery getter and family hauler for the PO.

Its got a cable set up that won't disengage? Is something binding?

my cousin has a88 with the CAD thing and never had any trouble with it. he works on another 2 with it and they work fine too. those damn things get abused pretty hard.
