So this is a manual transfer case?

In the transmission extension housing , where the transfer case linkage attaches there are 2 bolts .
Loosen the large one a fair amount say, couple of turns of the bolt.

The second smaller bolt is the key.
Shift the transfer case into 4 low , go under the truck and twist the entire linkage assy, until the transfer case shifts firmly into 4 low , then tighten both bolts.

yea its a manuel transfer case. alright ima give that a try. what causes this btw? cause the original owner never even locked the hubs or used the 4x4 which i was happy to hear but couldnt understand why its doin whats its doin
