Hello, new to the forum. 2005 ranger edge 2wd. Need some help... I believe that I have a vacuum leak and in my search I found this. Not sure what it is. And is it supposed to have another hose connected to it where I placed the arrow?

That is the heater shutoff valve, it is only supposed to have the one vacuum line, but it appears to be installed incorrectly as it is in your heater hoses and not in your trash can.
I dislike them because they serve, at most, a marginal function, unless you live in the hottest of climates, they have a tendency to get stuck in one position or the other, and they leak.
