need some fixit ideas

ok well im sure allot of you have encountered the tail of the squeeky door in your time, my brothers ranger and my ranger both have sqeeeky drivers doors,

i wanna hear if this is a common problem with our trucks
and what you guys did to fix the squeeky son of a gun.

WD-40.

If it moves and it shouldn't, duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, WD-40. It is whistles, duct tape. If it squeaks, WD-40.

bahaha not the door hinges. its more towards where the locking mechinism is at.

although it doesnt get much better then a can of pb blaster and wd40 and a big roll of duct tape.

might be a stupid sugesstion but arent there two bolts holding the locking mechanism to the door tighten those up if not take off the door panel and tighten some bolts up frpm the inside of the door

both of my doors squeak almost as bad as my friends 82 toyota

my driver does i just spray wd 40 every now and then

Are we talking squeeking and ratling while driving here? If so some lube on the mecanisim and the pin will help and you can loosen the torqz screws and adjust it a little to get a tighter close. Sometimes this is caused by your weather striping getting old and not pushing hard against the door so it could be causing your squeek noises also. If it were me I would take apart the door and put some old style mouse traps inside to see what you can catch also.

im actually pretty sure it is the rubber bump stop for the door, mine squeaks all the time, im gonna try putting some paper around it next time i go some where see if it helps.
