Need info

I'm currently involved in removing the oil pan on a 1990 Bronco II ( oil pump replacement)and it's a royal pain in the a**. Anyhow the book I have (Haynes not even decent toilet paper IMO) says I have to move the front stabilizer, but I really don't see how that is giving me any extra space to jack up the motor unless I'm going to use the harmonic balancer to lift the motor, I'm a little gun shy about doing that and I don't have a hoist. There isn't a whole lot of room to use the front of the oil pan. Also I'm guessing here to block the motor mounts I have to remove the nut on top of the mount and put a block in there, not remove the bolts out of the side of the engine block? Is it also necessary to remove the mufler inlet bolts? These are rusted and will have to be cut off. I didn't want to do that unless I have to
 
best and fastest way is to pick the engine up about 3 inches with a picker...
i am about to do this as i think i have low oil pressure(ticks for 3 secs after starting)
rent one if you have to it is the best way!
