A 5.5mm will work as well..

still frustrated.

thanks for all the info. keep yor ideas comming please. but to clarify i DID change the TFI that was bolted " to the back of the dizzy with the special socket" i had teh same result. as for the iac motor, i did take it off, clean it with a toothbrush and sprayed it out wiht brake claner when i did the tune up.

lets try this . what part of the "computer electronic system" tell the injetcotrs to open? is it teh coil, the brain, the tfi? i really beleive its running out of fuel. the motor leans out, revs up and will not idle down just befor it sthalls. this tells me from tuning on my race car its running LEAN. AKA, out of fuel. i called autozone and got a price of $101 for teh new dizzy and a price of $115 for the new brain. but , as we all know, there is no refunds on electrical parts. i live in micigan just 7 miles north from toledo oh, and were suppoed to be getting another 3" on top of whaty we already got :(( my jpoor 95 f-150 2wd truck is gonna get stuck andi need this fix asap. :( please keep the ideas comming.

thanks

bill

You said you had good fuel pressure...did you check it right after it died or started leaning out?

It could be slowly losing pressure as it is running.

After it dies, turn the key on and off a few times see if she fires up.

Edit:
Just reread your post, it says you have good pressure after she dies...

I would check the harness and pigtail going into the TFI module. Make sure there are no broken/grounded out wires.
I have had that exact problem before with a 2.9. One of the wires was grounding out on the TFI ignition shield, causing a no start issue.

this is getting complicated...

ok,
what symptoms EXACTLY do you have when it dies?

have you tested the alternator and battery?

if you turn the hose on the engine while its running does it die? spark show?
have you checked your timing?
pull your distributor and make sure the teeth are not all f-ed up.
is your vac. advance working properly?

He stated 40-50PSI. The spec is 30-40. It is possible to get a no start because there's simply too much fuel and it's not atomized (flooded).

Injector timing comes from within the computer based off of sensor inputs. It is a bank fire engine, 3 injectors fire per bank. Two wires are used from the PCM (as grounds) to turn them on and off. There is a lot of variables involved.
