Need help with Tranny swap

Hi I´ve got a ranger -88 with 2.9 4x4 and the a4ld tranny and its bad .. I live in Sweden we dont have many rangers here so fining a same tranny is very difficult.. But we do have Aerostars and explorers with the 4.0 engine.. my question is how much work is it to put a explorer or a aerostar tranny with 2wd and put it on my car with the 4x4? will be Very happy for answers!

Good news!! 87-94 rangers, B2's and explorers all used A4LD's, 91-94 had reverse valve bodies. explorers had stronger internals, all 2.8, 2.9, and 4.0L share same bolt pattern...

I did know that but thanks anyway but what do i need to change to put A 2wd tranny on my 4wd truck? Do I need to change the output shaft? How much work is it?

You should be able to find what you need there.
If you want plain 2wd, get the transmission from a Scorpio 2.9

If you get a 2wd tranny, you can use your old one to make it 4wd, you will need the output shaft and the rear housing from your 4x4 tranny, thats all
