Crap.

What am I suppose to do with all that gas?

Bonfire. I have the same problem with my wrecked escort. It set for a few years and the gas went bad. I just need to get it taken to see if the frames bent.. it's upsetting to see it sitting in the yard when I could be enjoying 40mpg.

I would mix it in with some good gas (about a 1:3 ratio: 1 gallon bad gas to 3 gallons good gas). Did that with our old Bronco and it worked fine.

you could let the particals settle then use the top portion in the lawn mower. Cause if it gets bad gas you just drop the float bowl and watch for the gas to clear up.

Here's two videos of the truck from a couple of days ago. They're a big file size.

This one is TRS-1 crossing a ditch and small hill in 2wd. Ignore the fawking neighbors dog barking.

This second one is TRS-1 crossing the same ditch in 4WD.

It stalled crossing. I turned up the idle a little.

Should give you guys a quick view of how it's running. I didn't record it bogging when I rev it.

As you can see, no excessive smoke and the truck seems to run ok off idle. Get on it though and it bogs.......and that ain't the kind of boggin I want to be doing.

jim, get a small can of booster and just fill the tank up like ya did...pull the carb and hose it out with carb clean...or hose it with carb cleaner best you can and put two cans of cleaner in with the rest of the gas/booster stuff.

she will come bsack to ya...just a lil shy from being alone so long and neglected...

these things need thier beatings ya know.:icon_thumby: of course have a filter or two in the truck ready to swap out, as that time can come any moment till you get a tank or two thru it:icon_thumby::icon_thumby:

Hey Jim,
If it's anything like my avenger the front bowl(on truck avengers i believe it uses side bowls?) comes off easily with 4 long bolts...Easy access to the 2 primary jets and power valve. I'd give em a look over to make sure they aren't gummed up. AYK jets come out with a flathead and you can use a crescent on the power valve. Make sure to get both gaskets though, as they tend to tear apart when you start taking stuff apart after that long.
Verify accelerator pump is working by manually lifting up the linkage while its running.
Good luck.

I put a bottle of cleaner in it today and added the 4.5 gallons of gas. I was hoping that adding the good gas would help the old gas. I haven't added any booster though. I could probably add another 4.5 gallons on top of what I just added today.

The only other thing I can think of is condensation.

I wonder if my local parts store will have new gaskets for it?

Eh, most big parts shops nowadays seem to sell just the trickit which included about 300 gaskets too many. I can get the individually here from ONLY 1 place, a hi-po shop. Hopefully your shops are better. One holds the bowl to the front plate, the other the front plate to the carb. I wouldn't take it apart until you have them. Power valves are relatively cheap to buy...just make sure you get the same rated one... they used to be bad about blowing, although holley claims they aren't anymore. Mine never gave me any trouble in the past 2 years before I sold it.
Good luck.

I called Holley today.

They said if I send them my 90670-1 they will send me back a 90670-2 at no charge. They said as soon as they get mine they will ship the replacement. Apparently there were some problems discovered with the initial Truck Avenger carbs and they revised them (90670-2).

The Gen-1 Truck Avengers (part number 90670-1) had a couple of design problems. While Holley did not have a general recall on them, if you call and talk to them, tell them you are having problems, they will swap you the updated 90670-2 free of charge.

You can reach Holley's tech support Monday through Friday, 8AM to 5PM CST @ 270 781-9741.

In the meantime.......

I need to get the truck running as best I can. I told them the truck has been sitting for 2-years. They told me to clean the carb with carb cleaner.

My concern is getting it apart, cleaning it, getting it back together and it actually working. Wonder if I can just take it off and spray it out instead of disassembly. Not sure if I can get gaskets locally to take it apart.

If I can't get it running decent by Friday, I'll just take TRS-2 to Yankee Lake instead.
