need help with backfiring prob

how do you check the air gap on the crankshaft position sensor? Didn't see any adjustment on it. It's a magnet wrapped with copper wire in a hard plastic coating.
Can kick myself for not checking the electrical connection during disassembly because it took half a day to dig it out, and literally had to drill it out of the boring above the crank.
 
You slip a set of feelers in between the sensor end and the tone ring on the balancer.
 
Things got busy so I forgot to post the fix sooner. The truck had a bad MAP sensor. I found out after doing some very time consuming, aggravating and unneeded repairs.
