i did a swap on my 88 ranger but the motor is running like shit. i dont now what to do it idles like it has a huge cam in it but its a stock 89 mustang motor. runs ok at higher rpm's.

Not enough info. MIght be anything from a vacuum leak to carb or ignition issues

Yeah dude more info...carbed? EFI?

Pulled codes? Firing on all cylinders? Vaccum leaks? etc.....

its efi vacuum is at 17 which is normal, when it is idling it seems like its running on half cylinders but when i hit the gas it runs better.iv eliminated all smog and egr stuff. running some tests i tried unplugging the mass air sensor and nothing changed. i havent had a chance to pull codes yet but will soon.

have the ignition mod checked.

just because it's brand new doesnt always mean its good,i've have a couple bad igniton modules before.

ya i know i tried swapping it with a known good one still no change

Check the timing?

if it doesnt change disconnecting the maf, then its the maf, it shoul run worse with the maf disconnected

swapped with a couple different maf sensors and hooked up a meter its reading right voltage

Do you have the BARO sensor hooked up? Remember since you have a mass air type system the map/baro sensor does not get any vacuum.

yup have it open to atmosphere pressure. it doesnt make since.
