Hi all,
I am hoping to get some help ASAP. My friend and I replaced the CV drive shaft assembly on the drivers side this afternoon and now we are having a hell of a time getting the upper control arm ball joint shaft back into the spindle.
We have tried just about everything we can think of and now I am hitting the forums to find an answer. Truck is a 2001 Ranger XLT 4.0 4x4 auto.
Is there some trick to getting that sucker in the spindle? I feel like maybe we are fighting the torsion bar suspension? We have tried to jack the lower A arm up, but the upper arm just moves up as well. We tried a ratchet tie down to try and compress the lower and upper arms together, didn't work. I am stumped and my truck is at my friends house and I have no ride.
Here are a couple pictures of what I am talking about. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
