Need help engine wont rev

the timing is fine, its a stock motor other than a 4 brl carb, it was running fine, then after it sat it started doing this, its not pinging, it wont hardly run now, its an electrical problem, im just not sure what at them moment, when you test the voltage at the coil you get 7 volts, with the engine running or not, it has a resistor wire built into the harness

What kind of coil do you have in it. You can put a TFI coil that runs on battery voltage find the computer hot key on for the pos side of the coil (battery voltage). and the trigger on the neg side green wire from the module. Are you getting 7 volts at the power to the module also that could be your problem.

its a stock coil, when you measure the voltage at the resistor wire at the end where it ties back into the coil + side its 7.3 volts, you unhook the wire it goes to 12v it acts like there is something shorting out i just cant find it?

Are you using the duraspark setup. pics would help are you getting battery voltage or is it less than battery voltage when you disconnect it from the coil.
