take out the 6 bolts and the C shaped straps they hold down and it should come right apart , it is a Ball and socket design

get a bigger hammer.

yep bigger hammer and smack the piss out of it lol

well i got all the bolts out and have been hitting it but it still wont budge. I wasnt hitting it too hard because i wasnt for sure that that was how it was supposed to come apart, Ill hit it harder tomorrow.
Thanks Guys

no, no, no, not that hammer. bigger one. 12lb hammer isn't big enough, 25lb at least!1!

Seriously, get a 2lb ball peen, undo the 4 bolts at the front, smack it good on the head of the u-joint, you won't break anything that wasn't already about to. then the back should just pop out on its own.

DON'T DROP IT!!!

I used my 4 pounder when pulling my case at the yard.

BEAT IT!! Judging by your location, it's just rust binding the ball to the socket. Did you get the front Ujoint out of the flange yet. If so, sweet....even better. Some love taps on the ball(shaft side) and some on the shaft itself. and maybe some sort of fast-eating penetrating oil would help at the ball and socket joint.
