Need clutch adjustment/repair.

The weird thing is that it never leaked/lost any fluid and no fluid was on the floor of the Truck.

the internal "diaphragm" of the clutch wore out and was letting fluid bypass it as you pressed on the clutch......

Thanks for the reply--That's similar to what Ford suspected (I think), but they said they always serviced it when the previous owner had it (ahhh, the beauty of computer databases) and the slave, TO Bearing, Pilot, and clutch had been replaced some time before I bought the truck. They said the master cylinder (check valve?) was original and bad (114,000 mi.). When they replaced it, all was fine. It is shifting perfectlly with great feel--currently. The only bad thing was it cost me around $200 and took Ford 2 days to get the part...

Ok here is my update for others to benefit from. Before I already said that I added clutch fluid to the top of the step(with black cup removed).

Well the weather has warmed back up and I guess eventually the fluid worked itself back into the system because now I have full range.

That was the first time in ten years that I added clutch fluid.
