I have a 1986 ranger with a 2.3l turbo diesel in it and i was just seeing if anyone had or knew of a rocker arm for this motor? I have looked at mazda and mitsubishi parts but they dont look the same

no the parts are not made any more for that motor, I have tried with ford and mitsubishi

The Wanted section on here might be another good place to post, there arent too many guys with the diesels but it would be worth a shot.

I think it'd be time to start retrofitting something.

:(

yeah good luck finding parts, my buddy has one and he cant even find a air filter for it.

i was told to check with skid steer shops, bobcat, mustang, case. etc. alot of them ran the perkins diesel in them which is the same motor that was put in the ranger.

the turbo diesel 2.3l is actually a mitsubishi motor the old n/a diesel is a perkins and yes you can get parts from tractor and marine dealers but the 2.3 is obsolete so i pretty much need a junkyard special part

oh, ok , im not too knowlagable with the diesel rangers. i just was told to check tractor shops. not many guys on here are. there a long lost art to most of us. but im sure theres someone on here with some knowlage.

i have seen some mostly from canada tho not many in the states, this is the second one i have owned and i sold the first one not knowing what i had

i wish they still make parts for them, my buddies was pretty cool, 5 psd, 4x4, had a stack on it. and it was turned up a little. it blew a nice cloud and sounded decent when that baby charger was spooling. he was always afraid to get on it though just cuz he new finding anything would be close to impossible.

they were cool trucks 86 hp and right around 100 torque and 30-40 mpg all day long but they were only sold in base trim and long bed

Napa surprisingly sells a lot of parts for the diesel. Browsing their website, I found pistons, valves, bearings, gaskets. But unfortunately no rocker arms.
