Hi.. from Wa state.. We own two rangers, a 93, 4x4 Manual and a 04 4x4 4.0 Auto... just researching a transmission issue with the 04.. its stuck in park?

Check your brake lights, if their not working there may be a wiring/fuse issue...
The switch on the brake pedal that activates the brake lights also runs the solenoid that locks it into park. ( At least it does on my Grand Marquis )
