It had been sleeting pretty bad,he was on his way home from his girlfriends house about 5 am,topped a hill about 75 foot from his driveway hit the brakes and the truck just came out from under him.
Smacked a big pine at the corner of the driveway.Airbag didnt even go off.Lucky he had his seatbelt on,still busted his lip and put a bump on his head.

A week ago he scored this little gem 04 6.0 turbo,100k miles.

ouuch good thing he wasn going to fast. He'll be better off with the Ford anyways haha

Glad to hear he is OK, trucks can be replaced!

Thanks.
The Titan was a really nice ride and would freakin fly but........13 MPG!
250 gets 19 in town.

thats crazy the airbag didnt even go off with all that damage.

It is good to hear that he is okay, it is odd that the airbag did not go off but I have seen it before, my Dad had a 97 s10 and he t-boned a women at like 45mph and his did not go off, as for the trucks in my opinion he upgraded

Thats what i was thinking. The pic really doesn't show how this thing folded up,the radiator is sitting on top of the engine.
the truck has a really beefy boxed frame but either side of it in the front.....not much there.Just some 1/8 inch channel and a few braces.

I don't know how th eTitan was designed, but some vehicles have X number of airbag sensors across the front; and you need to trip a certain number of those sensors for it to go off. So maybe he didn't get enough sensors.

I can totaly believe the air bag didn't deploy. A fella I work with was involved in a head on collision in Dec. '07. He had stopped to avoid hitting a deer (at night) and a truck traveling in the opposite direction (obviously) swerved into his lane and hit the drivers side front corner of the truck. Not in the fender, but the bumper! He was traveling about 45mph when they hit, the trooper said. Airbags did not deploy! This was a chevy colorado? something like that, you know the med sized truck.

My wife was hit in the drivers side door by a generation 1 ranger (how Ironic) in her mustang. The trooper estimated the truck was traveling 30 mph. ALL of the airbags deployed! On a side collision!

In the case of my friend, that don't give me a very good feeling about airbags deploying when they need to!

OH, and all folks were OK, no major injuries.

Air bags only help to protect you from the worst. So in the case of the Titan, its a good thing that the air bage didn't go off. Now if maybe he hit the tree dead center rather then on to the fender, it would be a different story. But in any case, a properly adjusted seat and the seat belt are the best braces for a crash.

Glad he's ok.

He should put those paddle tires on the 250 and bring it to the desert. :stirthepot:

Very nice looking truck though, hopefully he won't have any problems with the 6.0.

13mpg? I get 14-16 with mine and I drive with my foot on the floor. If I even come close to highway speeds I can get 16-17 and mine is fully loaded and made in America. Sorry to hear about the accident and glad to hear he's OK.

ok dburton.............dont give him any crazy ideas............lol....(those are mine anyway)

He went back to work this week in Mississippi about 30 miles from New Orleans. He's already talking 6" lift!(For dear old dad to put on while he's gone of course.)

I was riding with a buddy of mine in his Grand Am (POS) and we slid on the wet roads right into about a 6 inch curb and it blew the airbags... go figure. there wasn't even any severe body damage, just some scuffs on the bottom of his bumper

I responded to a few accident calls this summer involving Titans where the airbags didnt go off when they should have. one was a head-on with a F-150 at 45mph in each direction. Driver was in critical condition for 2 weeks.
