my ranger is done

It's done!!
Glad your alright.
Don't use that as a good reason not to wear your seatbelt.

in indiana, it wasnt a law to wear your seatbelt until july when they changed it. i never got used to wearing one again

before you made your flatbed you had a LIGHTBAR much different from a rollbar, they offer no protection in a rollover, only a cage will do that... and doing anything when a vehichle is moving without a seatbelt whether it is on the road or not is just flat stupid. Nothing against you, glad you are allright.

that's commonly called a rollbar, it is a lightbar and offers no rollover protection. this is a fact. if you bought it new it would have said it in the instructions.

Sorry to see that, ugh!
Rollbar or lightbar, might have helped, that cab was crushed!
I'm a big fan of seatbelts now. That's why I changed my tag to Hammerhead.
Ouch.

huh.. good to know.. now i can make fun of people that call them rollbars, and reduce their bed capacity for a place to hang lights.. :icon_twisted:

For the way the cabs love to crumple down on these older trucks it sure wouldn't have hurt anything. That is one thing that scares me the most about mine, there was a user one here a while back that flipped a 1gen off a short ledge and the cab crumpled down level with the hood and bed, a little more metal to hold it up would at least give you more time to get out thru the window. I would love to cage mine sometime, it already has a different cab on it from being flopped by a previous owner.

I was going around a 90 degree corner today at about 25mph and turned the wheel and nothing happened and I kept going straight and across the road into a tree. Bent my bumper, broke my grill, dented my hood, and Bent my fender. Still drove fine though. Got home and torched off the bumper because i couldnt get to the bolts and yeah, I need a new bumper and grill now. Didnt get hurt though.

Please Note: Our roll bars are decorative and are not intended to reduce or avoid injury or damage in the event of an accident

so your saying this isnt gonna do squat in a rollover? I agree if you only mount it to the truck bed. But if you mount it to the frame it will help.

That thing wont do jack shit especialy with the bends in the vertical tubes, those will fold in half faster than you can say pancake.

:icon_surprised: Holy criest dude! Good thing your ok though! That really sucks man, i felt devistated when my front right ened was pushed in from someone blowin a stop sign, i can only image how you feel about that!

Showbars, lightbars, rollbars... No good. Only minimal help at best. they will punch through the floor of the bed or collapse before holding up your truck.

Look, I'm not a cop, but I've covered a lot of car wrecks as a photog. I've seen wrecks like yours turn out LOTS worse. I've seen wrecks less than yours wind up worse. Glad you made it.
