My Project

it does it on everything, even on loose gravel.

and thanks for the diagram man, just what i needed!

i have a b2 with 4x4 and it does the same thing, and it's definately an open front diff.

My Ranger doesn't do it unless I'm on dry or slightly wet pavement. In gravel she will skip a bit, but you know that it's an open front end.

Check your tire diameters, not your stamped size, but actually get them off the ground and measure. You may have a size difference causing excessive windup. I think the allowable is about 3 or 4 inches in diameter, which translates to about 3/32" across for a 31" tire. Not a lot of room for error there.

alright well either way it'll be getting a lunchbox locker eventually. open diff is a real boner kill, and a spool is a little too intense for my needs lol.

so back on track with things, i want to clear (i know its gonna be tight) 33's with this thing in the end (well not the end, the end is a sas, but until i have money to do a sas im wanna run 33s). right now, as the truck sits, with a sagged 2wd front end, 3" body lift, and fx4 springs in the rear without the factory blocks, it clears 31's very comfortably. in fact, i could probably almost get away with 32's.

now once i swap this not sagged 4wd front end in, i wanna run either 2" coil spacers or 1.5" lift coils?, and i'll put the factory lift blocks in the rear. should i be good for 33's at that point?

no worries my friend, i just picked up a new cherry picker today, and this thursday im getting a good 5 speed trans and some other spare parts. I should be pulling the motor this weekend and starting on the crossmember swap.

and i just got a nice new camera so ill gladly take many pics along the way!

but in the meantime, id like to know if anyone has any input on my situation regarding clearing 33's
