My newest acquisition

Once I remove the scary stuff from the front It will be a regular 6" lift.
I'm thinking extended radius arms, and 6" lift springs out back. Maybe 8" springs and no blocks.

take that back to the wrecker. your better starting off with a stock truck.

For one, This truck is in better shape than the others that I own.
Two, the price was in my range!
Three, the 6" lift kit is all there, it just needs to be cleaned up.
Four, There is nothing this truck needs that I'm not capable of doing.
I'm just undecided on which direction to take it.
I have a very small budget, I can't afford huge tires and rockwells.

+1. thats what i thought from the first pic.

mutantpony: dont take offense or anything but that thing is just not worth all your time and effort. im sure you can make the susp. wicked but the truck is what it is.

If I lived in Cali I would think that truck was a Pile too. I live in the rust belt. That truck is in nice shape.
90% of why I bought the truck is the lift. I paid less for the truck than what it would cost me to buy a new 6" lift kit.

Hey, I'm in Cali, but I really like that thing, even the paint scheme. It's Edwardsburgs' school colors!

make that 2 of us in the rust belt! if you have a truck to use as a donor for d35, 8.8, 4 liter and the trans of your liking it looks like you have a nice cheap project on your hands.

86

No 4.0, No 8.8(well maybe). 4.0s are too expensive around here. I have a choice between a 302 or a 3.0. I might part my '87 to build this one. It WILL get an M5OD and a Hurst shifter if I go with the 3.0.

id do 302 and a 4speed or 5speed. youve got 3.0 rangers, even a cleveland ranger, so why not a windsor ranger????

This truck may take the place of both the '86 and the '87. A 3.0 would be the best choice as at least I can pull gas mileage and still have fun. That would also put me at one less project which would be good.
Will the back window from my '87 fit the '93?

I agree, ditch all the scary crap and it looks like you would have a pretty decent slate to start with.

It is official, I signed the papers today. My bosses(the owners of two dealerships) had equal shares in this truck and they both decided to GIVE it to me. Of course that is not legal in Michigan so, I ended up paying $100 plus tax, title.
My '87 developed a horrendous bottom end rattle this past Sunday so it is parked. Apparently it didn't like sitting at 6000rpm like the Frog does. I have a 3.0 waiting on the engine stand.

I think with a lot of work you can put it back together again, make it a toy.

Toys don't have to be pretty to be enjoyable. Oh wait, trucks don't have to be pretty!!
TRUCKS GET DIRTY!
Best of luck with it.

Looks like my blue truck when i first got it!!
