My new apprentice.

At 3 years old his is pretty confidant in his work. Of course Dad has to loosen and torque bolts. You have to make sure that you don't leave tools within reach!
His older brother got lost in computers at that age. Now he doesn't know the difference between a wrench and a socket. I still love 'em just as much though.

true. i forgot, i dont have kids to know how much they cost. but i could imagine! at least he is earning his keep. LOL.

I'm glad at that age, I was getting into computers AND cars/working on stuff. Luckly more into the cars/ working on stuff part.

Nice that he likes working on stuff!!

At that age, I had no idea what cars or computers were... When started learning, I learned quick. And sometimes the hard way.

At his age I was wrenching on boats. I still am, except now I do it for a living and I wrench on the truck and buggy for fun. And the truck and buggy are so much cheaper.

at that age i was, ripping apart all my toys to see how they worked, then i was always bummed bcuz i always ripped apart the important parts, and if i wasnt doin that i was in trouble for something

That is a snowmobile engine that he is assembling in the picture. He helps me work on Rangers to though.
When I was his age I would walk in the woods with the dogs, Used to drive my mom crazy! My dad could barely use a screwdriver though. I had no one to learn from. I spent more time hunting as a pre-teen than anyting else. I went to work in a junkyard at 15 and blew my bosses mind, I was a natural. When I was 16 I built a car from a bare shell.

same here.
i would work in a junk yard if they gave me free parts. they would probably go out of business though.

My wife says my idea of the perfect retirement home would be an old travel trailer in the back of a wrecking yard.

theres a wrecking yard like that near me, if u work there u live on the property and whatever u want is urs as long as ur actually doin something with it....i been tryin to get a job there since i found the place

i started gettin into cars bout 8, took everything apart, my dad had tools but he was really more into wood working, so i basically taught myself, bought my tools/ box, my truck, my parts, everything. Now I'm 20 and trying to get school to teach me, but its not workin to well.
