My First Truck

I hate the 3.0 you, "The 3.0's biggest fan" like it.
It's all about opinion. My opinion is that its a POS.
My brothers Nissan 4cyl truck can go 70+ up hills that my V6 can barely keep a steady 40 up..

I know it's about opinion, and I wanted to make sure the OP understood that there are other opinions than it's a crappy motor. You're also comparing two completely different trucks, which makes no sense. I guarantee that my truck is heavier than the Nissan. Right there it makes the two uncomparable.

Alright, truck vs truck argument aside I believe we are arguing about to different aspects of the 3.0, your talking about it's longevity, it does have that. But what it doesn't have is Power. That's I'm arguing. And since your so concerned with the PO's view of the 3.0, he said this.
plenty of power for what I would need to do with it.
He's looking at the F-150 because he felt he wouldn't get enough power I guess. And he likes the fact that the F-150 has... whats that magic word? Power?

Maybe your 3.0 is, like, a closet 2.3 or something...that doesn't seem right because even my 2.0 could make it up most hills with decent power (downshifting needed sometimes)...

Have you had everything checked out like compression tests and fuel pressure? Most people I know with the 3.0 are quite happy with the power it provides...and they don't complain about 40 uphill unless there is something wrong with the engine...

I'd rather have the 2.3.......

I love my 3.0. It takes insaine amounts of abuse.

With the 4.10s it really isn't too bad. Yes, downshifting comes in handy a lot.

I pushed 35x15.5" TSLs down the road at 65 just fine.

My 0-60 was better on foot.

I dont think you know what you are talking about. A 2.3 with what 130 ft Ibs of torque mabey alittle more. :icon_rofl: That 2.3 will be noticeably slower than your 3.0. I dont know if you have an automatic but if you had a 5 speed you would be talking different. I have an 3.0 automatic 4X4 and it wont win many races but my friend has a 2wd 3.0 5 speed and that truck is much quicker. Now imagine if you had a 2.3 4X4 you are definaltly not going anywhere quick and you are mabey getting 1-3 mpg better than my 3.0 4X4. I wish I had a 4.0 but I am glad I have my 3.0 over a 2.3.
