I just finished the 2.3T swap. I thought I'd post a few pics of the progress. Next comes the paint job!

Here's the truck:

The interior (I need to get real tan door panels, instead of red ones painted tan :bad: )

And the instrument cluster and gauges. On top, from left to right is: Oil Temp, Oil pressure, Voltage, Vacuum/Boost, and Water Temp.

Nope. The engine is a hybrid consisting of a ranger dual plug block and crank with 88 turbocoupe rods and forged dished pistons. The head is a range dual plug that I ported the crap out of, along with the ranger dual plug intake. The head has oversize stainless valves, hardened seats, and shimmed springs. It is running a thicker-than-stock fel-pro 1035 head gasket. The compression is about 8.5:1. I can still run 15 PSI on 93 octane fuel. The dual port head is a real detonation-fighter, especially if you do a good job smoothing the combustion chambers. It is running an 88 turbocoupe 8UA computer along with ranger 8 plug DIS ignition.

Looks pretty sweet man!

I like the blue paint all over the engine compartment.

88 Coupe computer and DIS ignition, how did you make that work?

Actually the computers for TFI and DIS ignition use the exact same control wires, IDM, SPOUT, and PIP. The pins are even the same between 90 ranger and LA2, LA3, LB2, LB3, and 8UA computers. One feature the TFI computers don't have is DPI (dual plug inhibit) which just disables one side of spark plugs while cranking. You just run the DPI wire from the DIS module to ignition ground and fires all 8 all the time, even while cranking.

How is the wriring in this swap? Did you have to swap the turbo coupe wiring or just hook up the computer? Ive benn wanting to do this swap for a long time now. Thinking about a 2.3 turbo 4x4 ranger.
