I was at the boneyard and scored a few things and got them installed. My old glove box lid was scratched. Got it installed. Need to figure out on later how to switch locks. I don’t ever lock it. Got to see how the knob comes off. Also replaced my broken ashtray. I still have a small scratch in the lower dash but not as bad. May try touch up paint on it later.

My visor rods had a lot of sag. I swapped rids from bone yards.

A lot better. I did bend the rids in the vice a little to just get the visors that much higher.

Now I’m starting to get some of the Cruise Control installed and AC hooked up to go to shop to get charged.

The Speed Control Amplifier was bent by a customer. I am going to have to take it back out and get back to normal.

This is going take a while. My truck has this. The broncos does not. Got to find its purpose.

Wondering if this serves same/ similar purpose. Lots of studying to do.

This clip attaches to the bolt. It drapes over it and back down to the shifter area.

Looks like it's a relay. Apparently for the low oil light specifically.

Thanks @SenorNoob I think this cruise control thing is going to take a lot of investigation. I have seen you have to switch to a different horn relay, and I still have several connections to figure out. My 88 Bronco has cruise, but it has different connections in a few places. I really want cruise on this. I have only found two videos and that is on full size trucks. I have figured a few things out. I was really hoping to make a step by step post on it.

The harness is in the truck but no connections. If anybody has some information on a 92 and older install, I would appreciate. 93 and newer uses a different set up.

That vacum hose goes to a swich mounted on steering support that then adjusts to the brake pedal the swich is stops the cruize

If memory serves (caveat- which is less and less) Rangers somewhere in that vintage only had a horn relay when equipped with cruise.

When not equipped with cruise, the steering wheel contacts directly switched the horn.

Do you have an EVTM; or could you use some schematics?

Hello @rebuild83 Thanks, I did some looking and found the bracket you are talking about. I am heading to the boneyard Thursday and getting that bracket and a bumper and see what else I can find.

Hello @RobbieD I found some schematics on BlackBlls build. If you have some schematics, please post them. Me and electrical diagrams get along so well. I can figure somethings out but it is a guessing game. I have a volt meter and can do the basics with it.

I got to get the dash back together for work tonight. I wanted to clean my cluster up. This does a really good job. Next time I have it out, I will get some orange modeling paint and do the needles for a newer look. Just did not think of it at this time.

Somewhere in these manuals is how to get working. Just have to stumble my way thru. I will be looking at the Bronco for some wiring. That will help.

The schematics that I posted are from the 1987 Ford EVTM.

The link that you posted is the 1988 version, and that listing is a little on the pricey side. If you're patient and check eBay often, you can buy one for a lot cheaper.

Factory lit is the bomb; well worth having. You'll want to get lit for the year model truck(s) that you have; stuff did change with time.

Good luck with getting ready to retire. I retired about a year and a half ago myself (AKA "professional loafer"). I highly recommend it.

Yup, the relay in question is for the horn. Non cruise trucks it just has its own little bracket, with cruise it mounts on the cruise module.

They make a special needle paint actually that catches light better. I did that and found a place that makes custom gauge overlays... and had them make black overlays for mine. Really freshened up my cluster.
