More info would make determining this problem a little easier. Do you hear a click from the t-case shift motor when you shift it into 4wd? do the 4wd lights come on at all? There is no battery specific to the switch.

Wrong forum. Look at the list of forums in here, and go to the correct one. This problem is very common and is covered in depth on this site.

About every other thread is asking how to fix it. I've covered how I fixed it a few times in there, it's usually the stop bushing, dirty contacts, or broken hubs. In most cases, you don't even need any new parts to fix the problem, just a piece of rubber hose. I used a fat zip-tie around the metal peg.

Hmm...seems I have to start looking around more. Didn't realize there's a 4wd systems section. lol. I've read the writeup in the library about the t-case motor. Unfortunately it doesn't do me any good. I have an electric cluth that engages the front end on my truck...and the clutch is toast. I basically have 2hi and 2low.

Although the garage told me that the fluid is high in the t-case...I wonder if that could be the culprit.

I know nothing about fancy clutch transfer cases, I only know about the 1354 in both flavors, and the crap ones in the '97 Wranglers.
