My $3,500 Jaguar - The 'Mad Jag'

Meanwhile I’m getting 13 around town in the MDX. Good thing it’s only for bad weather and special occasions.

Supposedly the 4.2 and ZF6HP26 6-speed automatic is pretty reliable, but this thing has wiring harnesses and modules out the wazoo.

I'd feel more comfortable driving a 1985 Ford Ranger / Bronco II with a manual. There's not much to go wrong there.

Seeing how well the Jag did makes me want to cruise Route 66 for it's 100th anniversary, although I've already travelled most of it in the 'Loan Ranger' back in 2019.

Is cruising Route 66 for it's 100th anniversary during the nation's 250th anniversary in a British car wrong? LOL

If you add in a tragic 4th of July breakdown, it’s downright perfect.

Damn! That's brutal.

FYI, in 2005, Ford owned 100% of Jaguar. So technically, my 2005 Jaguar XJ8 is a Ford. :icon_idea:

For the record, I think the Jag is a very, very cool car and I’m jealous of it.

So the brutality totally came from a place of love.
