seems to be a common issue with newer cars that use cool white lights for headlights.

The warmer color light penetrates the atmosphere better, that’s why sunsets are orange, people use yellow fog lights.

Wife’s ‘21 Subaru is the same. Really bright white light directly in front of the car, can’t see anything in the peripheral at all.

Thats why I installed mine as well. The trips home from my uncles house after our annual cookouts & holidays are on 100% unlit rural roads where the (unofficial) speed limit is 60+.. and the stock headlights left a lot to be desired when it comes to 'peripheral' lighting. These are going to make me feel MUCH better on those trips.

To be honest.. the high beams leave a lot to be desired with regards to how far & how high they throw their light as well... putting some additional forward facing lights on my roof rack may be my next modification. Considering that I only have a half rack.. I should be able to run some without any annoying glare off of the hood.

I noticed that too. The new fog lights are so much brighter than the stock high beams and low beams. I would really like something else to light even further ahead.

So now I've develo[ped a hew interest in lighting, not just anything mind you, not more accessoties that jusy look cool, but lights which could be more powerful than stock.

I've also been concerned about rear lighting too. I've been caught in a number of solid downpours where I couldn't see ahead. What do you do? Pull over? Continue on at the same speed and use the force? Those fog lights will really help, but what about the poor guy behind me? I bought new tail lights already which have extra bulbs (2 bulbs instead of one). Each is seated inside a parabolic arc reflector. That's better for every day driving, but I would still like something with a little extra throw.

Funny. I’ve never had a CB that wanted anything to do with the windshield washer spray.
The wiper blades are always fine on their own. The pump for the spray, absolutely not.

I had to install an inline filter on the power wires and wire it directly to the battery to eliminate that. Then I had to install a filter on the power lines for the fuel pump because the radio was picking up signal from that. Apparently, Ford is notorious for RF noise.

This was on the 2011. So far, the 2019 seems fine.

There is an on going debate on the yellow lights. I haven't noticed one ro be better than the other.

I haven't either. I worked as a lighting designer once, We know that warm and cool colors aimed ahead fom opposing angles create maximum visibilty. A white and a yellow aimed from pretty much the same angle makes little difference.

Those are a different yellow. LOL

The ones I'm talking about is the old school fog lights one sees on occasion here. Some countries mandated the head lights being that color as well. I think the mandate is gone now but it was a thing for a long time in certain countries.

I suspect that some of that is improper installation and/or aiming, the wrong bulbs being used in a housing not designed for them, or straight up using the wrong lights for the application.

The classic yellow lights used in fog lights and head lights shouldn't be blinding oncoming traffic if they have been installed and aimed correctly.

As far as the blue tinged lights and the ultra white ones retrofit, those do tend to be distracting and blinding.

I've also found that the LED factory installed lights tend to be glaring and annoying as well.

Alright.. so.. little disappointed in Ford at the moment.

Had our first snowstorm on Thanksgiving. Temps were hovering just a touch over freezing, so the snow that was falling was super dense and wet.

The damn headlights on the bronco (led) don't make NEARLY ENOUGH heat to keep themselves clear in such conditions. I left for my uncle's just after night had fallen.. and I literally couldn't drive for more than 3 miles before my light output decreased to near naught thanks to an inch of buildup on the housings.

At that point.. just enough light was coming through to illuminate all the snow that was about to hit the windshield.. but couldn't see the road more than 10 feet past the end of the hood.

Needless to say.. I was actually happy to be stuck at the end of a big line of cars that were driving much too slow. Saved me from having to make many many stops to clear my lights off

Yup, my Ranger does that too.

It is fun when snow builds up on the anti collision sensor on the Bronco as well.

My F-150 is some sort of aerodynamic oddity where road spray builds on the headlights and blanks them out, I have never had that on a vehicle before.

Damn.. I'm surprised your ranger has that happen. Usually glass housings get nice and toasty with a halogen in them.

Oddly enough I didn't get the "pre collision camera blocked" alert 14 times on my drive.. I forgot all about that lol. God I hate winter

Ah right on lol. Id definitely be switching back.. I'm usually relatively fearless while driving in shit weather but damn.. no lights when you really need lights is no bueno thankfully Im really never out after dark during snow season.
