My 2001 400EX Build thread!!

[FONT=verdana, arial, helvetica]so a few weeks ago i got this 2001 400ex for basically nothing.

heres what it looked like when i got it:

i traded 150 bucks and a 351W and tranny that i got for free for it. came with everythin, the only catch was it came in boxes lol.

the first thing i did was get it running:

during this pic it ran but it smoked oil real bad. like alot lol. so i tore it back down and did the valve seals and cleaned the carbon off the head and sent the cylinder out to be bored .040 over. its still gone and won be in for a few more days, along with OEM rocker arms and top end gaskets.

so ive just been tinkerin with my empty quad haha:

fixed my LRD exhaust, it leaded REAL bad:

started painting my front end:

and today i got bored so i started stripping the frame for a repaint:

all the mods are: gusseted frame, Stage 3 cam, P&P head, .040 over. full LRD exhaust, UM airbox, No Lid, K&N filter, kenda knarlys rear, Holeshots on the front, ITP rims all the way around, Cannondale Cannibal 440 A-Arms, reworked rear shock, IMS pegs, AC nerfs and skids, Maier plastic, Moose bars, powermadd handguards, +2 Axle, 13/38 sprockets, LSR carrier and anti fade locknut, LSR sprocket hub, LSR parking brake block off.

so what do yall think so far?

still havent got my cylinder back, it shouldnt take 3 weeks+ to bore one(1) cylinder out .040 over.

ITS ALMOST DONE!!!

i got the motor done awhile ago and got the parts back from the powdercoaters .

the frame and top A-arms are Flourescent orange and the bottom a arms and swingarm are chrome. eveything else will be black. anyways, enough talk. on to the pics!
