My '00 build thred, w/questions

Eric I sure don't have anything close to that length left, you could buy some from Ballistic Fab or RuffStuff they will actually sell you just the amount you need at a decent price. But as far as a local dealer in town I don't know anyone right off hand that sells DOM.

Correct me if I am wrong but I beleive your vehicle speed sensor is in your trans on that year. The only thing your tone ring controls in your truck is the ABS. The speed sensor does not only tell you how fast your going it also tells your trans so it knows when to shift.

You are correct for anything i believe below 98 and above 2000 my 98 runs everything off the rear tone ring.

:yahoo:1, 2, skip a few 99, 100! Here it is finally done!:yahoo: The front coils I got are too stiff so I have to buy new ones. (dont get your coils from coil spring specialties:annoyed: ) but other than that it is done. Let me know if you have any questions about specific items. I am too lazy to put them up right now.

That a is a very sharp truck u got their. Look very good!

Have u driven it yet? Any more pics.

So Eric did you get to take it out wheeling? If so how did it do. Sorry I did not get to stick around, had to take my wife out to dinner for V Day.

I have been driving it around and have taken it offroad. I had the first set of springs I bought which were way too stiff. I have since put new lower rate springs on and it rides a lot better. Anybody out there doing this swap dont get a spring over 300# and dont get them from coil spring specialties. I went with the Deaver superflex 4" lift spring. I am going out again on the 18th. I will let you know how it does. Were you able to get your steering box thing figured out? Oh by the way that first nut that guy showed us at a Ace was the right one. I took my steering apart and took the piece down there. FYI Napa doesn't carry metric castle nuts. I will try to get more pics next time I take it out.

That is good news Eric, yes I did get the steering box replaced I need to get it out and get some miles on it and get used to how it drives now.

I have been working on the bumper, I picked up a XRC8 from Smittybilt. I decided to go with a reciever style winch setup. Here are some pics of the truck after I took it out today with the partially completed bumper with the winch receiver plate installed.

ranger flex.jpg

Now I need to get the limited slip carrier in the front so I wont lose traction like that.

1freaky1 let me know when you want to go wheeling.

Eric I am hoping to get out here in the next couple weeks after a few things calm down will let you know.

Why didn't you just grab a stock axle with VSS. Any later model dodge or ford axle would have worked. Would have save a ton of machine work.

Two reasons: 1) I didn't know such an axle existed outside the 8.8 and 2) my neighbour runs a machine shop and works for packs if cokes and pastries. :D
