In my 302 conversion, I noticed that Mustang EFI Throttle bodies have a coolant line running through it,

What is the purpose of this line and is it necessary to hook up?

I work with a guy who has a VERY suped-up mustang and he told me that he doesn't run a line through his, it's mainly there to warm it up, it this true?

its not in the throttle body. Its in the egr spacer. Coolent is pumped through it to cool it off. Im runing without it hooked up.

Not to question your knowledge, but in the Summit Racing pics, there is a small tube ON the actual throttle body itself, I don't think it even has the EGR plate included

actually, coolant is pumped through to warm the air. it's for "cold starts", suppose to make the car run/idle better in cold weather.

but as we all know, hot air = not good for performance. so just block off the tubes.
