Their primary food sources are honey bees and mantids. Not spiders.

Fortunately, Asiatic honey bees have adaptation that allows them to kill off the Asian giant hornets. Ours do not.

At this point, there wouldn't be enough time to prepare for our bees to go extinct (they are going to) and bring in enough from overseas that are resistant to them. So, I guess we all just die?

Beekeepers can put up screens to protect their hives. The size of the Asian hornet makes it easy to keep them out of the smaller honey bees hives.

As I watch the cormorants gorge themselves in the pond out my back windows...

I read of the Asia carp making it's way into the Great Lakes...

They will be spraying in a week or two for the Gyspy Moths...

Now we get their hornets too... wonderful!

Is the bee-internet down? Is there a problem with the bee-cable?

Yes, some of them may get killed outside of the hive, but from what I’ve read these things go into the hive and kill everything inside. Keeping them out is just an option from someone who’s not a bee expert... but it can’t hurt.
