much difference between 3.73 & 4.10 ratios?

i really just wonder if im working the motor way too hard with the gearing/traier combo. ive got a vaccum guage on it and its always below 10 with the trailer, its around 14-16 with the truck alone. it doesnt feel like its out of power with the trailer, but i know its probly going to shorten the lifespan of the engine working it like that. i expect lower fuel economy while towing, but the drop from 19 (truck alone) to 10/12 (towing) seems really drastic. ive considered getting a smaller trailer and using the big one for all my tools, kinda build my own "mobile shop" so to speak. my thoughts on lower gearing were that if the motor was a little higher in the rpm range at speed, it wouldnt be working as hard, maybe gain a few mpg's back. iyts kind of a lose-lose situation, more ground speed gets the motor more rpm's but also equals more wind resistance. less ground speed takes the motor too low in rpms and would be lugging it. (and it takes forever to get anywhere at 45 mph)
