The real reason tonneau covers hurt MPG's is because people have to get the Heavy fiberglass ones... lightweight ones help.

The F-150 was specifically tested in simulations and the wind tunnel to generate the vortex. Certain configurations of it will not benefit as much from a bed cover. However, if you look at one of the links I give previously, it clearly show the improvements of bed covers for Rangers.

you can also look into indexing your plugs.
it might help that little bit and maybe a front fascia cover with a styrofoam style bumper!

haha my friend has a truck exactly like yours and he rearended someone with no damage to his truck. I caused the only damage to it when he tied it to the bumper the wrong way...
